I have a firebird 2000 and I have a flat tire.
I could not find my wheel key to unlock the bolts. I think I lost it. I dont have my wheel key number to order a new one from gmc. Is there any solution about that??? |

Well, you have one of two options:
1. Have it towed to a dealer where they can figure out which one it is, and get it off of there for you. Cost: tow + new lug nut key + flat repair. 2. Have it towed to a dealer/tire center, and have them take it off forcibly (sp). This can be done, but you may risk damage to the stud as well as losing the lug nut itself. Cost: tow + new lug nut + new stud (possibly) + flat repair. Which is the lesser of two evils in your mind?

Not possible. He's referring to the locking lug nuts, that have a special pattern, as well as a "key" that fits into the tire iron in order to get it to come off the stud....

why do they make cars so complicated now? why the hell did they put a lock on lugs, they should make it an option. all the freaking sensors and everything. they suck. my mass airflow sensor is screwed up in my 89 bird, costs almost $300 to replace whats up with that?
