Is this ok? I've got some Laguna Seca Blue coming to my house for a future project (don't know what, just love the color).
Just wondering if I need to find a different primer or not. Thanks guys.

afaik its advised to use automotive primer because it lessens the chance of the components having some sort of chemical reaction. its all in the FAQ mate.

I actually prefer to use Tamiya Fine White Primer under all my paints. I've never had it give me any problems under any paint that I've used (Tamiya Acrylics, TS sprays, Testors Enamels and acrylics, Krylon, Duplicolor). It's great stuff. I like it because it goes on really smooth, doesn't harm the plastic, and does one hell of a job protecting the plastic against the more harmful automotice lacquers.
Edit: Sebstar got his post in before me, but I beg to differ. I've never had any problems with it and prefer it over all others. The price is a little high, so I usually have to settle for Krylon and a little more work.

I'm with Diesel - I've used tamiya grey primer. I generally let the primer be for about a week before I start painting. Also, Duplicolour is the only automotive paint I've tried. So, far not one problem.

Re: automotive lacquer over tamiya primer???
I've also used Tamiya Primer under Duplicolor with no trouble.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll go ahead and try it over the tamiya primer, if it gives me any problems I'll try and find something else then.
