i saw one here in Toronto the other day. it was a driving Coke ad and they probably imported it to catch eyes, had "COKE" slathered all over it. almost made me want a line...er...bottle.
neat little car. you don't realize how frickin' small they are until you drive beside one. easy to park and cheap and good on gas, but besides that i don't see much merit. but there are people who will want them.

I saw loads of them when I visited Germany. There were even three cars on display at the marketplace, including one which had no roof, and scissor doors (I have pictures, must get them scanned) However, they look funky since they about as wide as they are tall, and just slightly longer than they are wide. They'd be useless to anybody who needs to carry more than one passenger though (alot like the Honda CRX)

They're all over the place in London, like civics in the states except not riced out. It makes sense to drive them over here too. There's a five pound congestionf ee you have to pay every day you drive through the city, but you dont have to pay it if you drive a Smart car. Petrol is expensive over here and smart cars have incredible gas mileage. Also, the roads are incredibly narrow and the smart cars are incredibly small, so it works out well. I coudln't drive one though, they look like mini pickups with the beds chopped off.

Re: Smart Cars????
Not TOO many in Genoa- not nearly as many as FIAT Punto's at least- still I love the things- they are incredibly cute, sturdily reliable and shockingly practical- the future of motoring???? Either way I won't be buyign one- I'll be opting for a Mazda2 diesel or Honda Jazz (Because I need a runabout- fuel for Alfa=too expensive)
