Angry Engine swap cost!???

For a 00 b16a2 complete change over to get put in a 00 EX how much would it cost??? I already got quoted $1700!!! i think thats kinda crazy for swap....How much do you think it would cost????
SORRY FOR THE WRONG INFO....THE $1700 IS JUST FOR THE INSTALL...i can get the motor for $2350.....so all around it gonna be about $4200...i would think that the install would be alot cheaper than that....maybe like 700-1000?

Re: Engine swap cost!???

Damn thats F*****G cheap. I've heard of getting a b16a2 swap for like 2200 and like 800 for install so about 3000 closing costs. But hey if you can get it that cheap with good mileage on the engine by ole means get it.

$1700 for just the labor? Shit, find a mechanically inclined friend or two and pay them in beer.

Better yet, buy the factory service manual and do the swap yourself. Just get a friend to help you with the tricky stuff. My brother and I are doing an SR20 swap right now, and it's only taken about 3 weeks. We should be done in a week. It's much more fun, and you save yourself a buttload of money.

Did you even read the question? Or just posting based on the first sentence?

$1700 for an install is fucking rape, I'd do it for $400, that's if I didn't know you, a six pack and a carton of smokes for a buddy. Shit, that's a drop in swap, EX already has vtec, the only wires you have to run are the knock. Tell that shop to eat your ass, and get some tools, a engine hoist or car lift, and a manual for the 99-00 civic Si, and use that as your guide, invite a friend over and make it a weekend.
