disable factory alarm?

i have a 99 blazer, with factory keyless/alarm....
the alarm (horn) sounds by itself, for no reason, when i lock the doors with the remote. i was wondering if i could disable it, and still use the keyless entry.
p.s., i have had the car to the dealer to try and correct this problem, but they couldn't figure it out....
thanks

You'll have to test this to make sure the interior lights do not stay on. Locate the BCM. It is to the right of the gas pedel under the dash. THere will be a light purple plug. You'll see a light green wire, ground that sucker. That's your OEM alarm disarm. I think if that's always grounded, it can not arm itself. This is if infact you have the OEM alarm and not an add on that uses the car's horn.

Well, then more than likely it is OEM then. If it is an add-on, you can simple rip it out.

Oh yeah. I guess didn't read the question like that. Does the alarm go off by itself after you leave the car or just beeps when you lock or unlock with the remote. Fordin is correct, you can do some programming on the OEM alarm yourself.

it goes off randomly, sometimes within seconds from pressing the remote botton to lock the doors,it has been to the dealer, they couldn't figure it out....now i loks the doors with the key, so that the alarm is not activated.

Well then I am unsure if it would be and OEM or add-on. If OEM, it should still arm itself with the key. I know it should if you lock it before you shut the doors. Oh well, just let me know what you find out.
