Re: good air suspension

No..... If you wanted a good handling suspension system I could recommend that.

Ok new to this air suspension thing and all. If i was to get the air suspension what would that replace. I was wanting to get new struts for my car since i cant stand anything factory on my car. I heard that Koni's were good. Please inform me.

Air suspension takes the place of all the factory suspension. You will no longer have struts. No springs or shocks, just cylinders.

There is another thread going on about air suspension, you may wanna check that out. As for handling, your handling is gonna go to hell! A lot of body roll and stuff like that. Definitely not the suspension to have for racing or hard driving. Blowjax, unless they have made some major improvements, is a crappy, cheap brand. I know a lot of people who have/had them. Most of them arent happy with them. I think most people buy them b/c they are cheap. Hope that helps a little!

AIR and suspension shouldn't be in the same sentence.

couldnt you get very thick sway bars to stop the body roll? youd still have control arms with air suspension.

Strut bars would help, but still, handling wont be all that good. The weight transfer w/ air suspension is crazy. Like, when you are making a sharp turn, the car leans really bad. Stopping fast has the same effect.

Gah...well fuck it my car will be too low to try and not have airbags...I'm not going to be driving crazy or anything...besides I've been driving a Jeep Wrangler...can't be worse than that.

strut bars are WAY different than sway bars, strut bars just strenghten the car, keeping it solid during hard corners, sway bars (simply put) use force from outer control arm to lower the inside of the car and stop body roll.

1st off if your into racing yer car, how it handles, and shit like that air suspension is not for you. it is more for the "show, no go" type of people. oh ya, you can corner real nice when you dump a side on the off ramp, like 75 mph no problem, but thats not what cylinders are about. yes, cylinders replace yer spring and strut. if the shop knows what they are doing, you can do custom shock mounts to maintain good ride quality. you can minimize air transfer in cornering and braking by running enough valves for independent wheel control. normally in an airsuspension vehicle the sway bar is removed. a unibody vehicle w/ air suspension should also have a front strut tower bar. stay away from blowjax. look into a CCE kit or the hack shack kit (parker cylinders).
