Do any of you really race? If so, what race can you recall as your best?

I am an avid racer but a beginner at that. The one that I remember clearly is when I raced a souped Si on a very busy street around 12:30 at night. Although I lost, it was a good race.

My best race was against a Cadillac DTS. I didn't win but I really didn't get left in the dust either. This occured in light traffic and is quite out of character for me but this was a challenge I could not pass up.

There were a few the best was vs. a S2000 on winding business park roads at around 3:00 a.m. There was a lot of construction so it was pretty wide open. Niether of us won, but we hit speeds up to 120 on this 2 lane road. It was exhileratingly badass race!:badass:

Wow. Now i think that is the reason Vetts are my favotite. My best race was agianst a 95' Grandam my friend drove befor it got totaled. We were f'in around one night and about 1:30 we decied to go race. Now I only drive an 87' Celica and thought wow this was over befor it started(me losseing). The light turned green and we both punched it. At first we were neck and neck but as soon as I hit 2nd I was already 1 car length ahead of him at the time and once 3rd was engaged I was gone.

I'm with Hakka here. I have a buddy with a 94 Viper RT and we've raced on several occasions. Every once and awhile I'll take him. I'm always the fastest off the line so if he misses a shift, I have him. Otherwise if the race is over a 1/4 (depending on where we start) hes going to pass me up.

I'm pretty sure early Vipers aren't as fast as newer ones. they run mid-high twelves most of the time, I think....it was pretty close, but I had him by 3/4 of a car length or so by the end

Closest Race

My closest race would probably be when I raced a Civic SI. It was an awesome race. I was cruising home on the highway, and I saw this Civic come flying by. I thought, maybe I should do this. Dropped it down to 3rd, and it was on. We raced for several miles, weaving in and out of traffic at like a 130 mph. It was tight. Eventually we each had gone our seperate ways, but it was back and forth between us the whole time. It was tight.

Thumbs down Best and First race...

My first race took place a couple months ago when I first got my license. Anyways I was racing a '68 Ford P/U (<-yeah you read that right) with my '94 s10, 2.2 liter stock. We were flying around curves at about 70-75 mph. I was barking gears up to 3rd. I had him beat until the 2 mile straight away. That's when he got up beside me, hit the dixie horn, and off he went....i lost, but it felt quite good.
