Hey all,
Just wondering what ECU's you guys use on your R34's? I'm about to go the 400-450bhp route and in the UK, we don't really have much choice apart from the Apex-i PowerFC or an imported map from Mines. Is there an established Aussie alternative? Cheers all, Cem |

Hi, I have used 3 ECUs on my R33GTR ie JUN 450 hp ECU/HKS F Con V and currently the Top Secret ROM. The JUN ECU is the easiest to use as it just replaces the stock one and it churns out 385rwhp at 1.12 bar. Really smooth but the mixture was a bit lean. Cannot be programmed though. The F Con is good but since my 600 hp upgrade, I changed it to the ROM as my car was being tuned by Top Secret chief.

Yeah....it was tuned by Nagata "Smokey" San himself. I shared the cost with 2 other GTR owners to fly him and 2 assistants down to S'pore to do that. So, it wasn't that expensive. While tuning the car, Nagata San also clocked 302 kph on the road in my GTR early one morning!

1040kw! Damn....that's about 1400 hp!!
I wish he would let me drive it because if I sit next to him in that car I would probably need a sick bag!!

Yeah...I might also need a fastener for my denture as well....otherwise I would be swallowing it in no time! I mean this guy drives a GTR at 200mph in a tunnel! That's what you call GUT! But you know, he works just as hard! Straight from the airport at noon, he attacked my car without checking in the hotel till 8 pm. Then he checked in, have dinner and attacked the car again till 3 am! He did that for 4 days to fininsh all 3 GTRs! Amazing. Worth every penny we paid for him.

The car was fitted with 2540s turbo, 264/272 cams, oversized 87mm forged pistons etc etc etc. Nagata San tuned it to 605 bhp. It is definitely better in term of performance since the car was up till than churning only 420 bhp. on stock turbos. The whole thing cost about USD 20k including the tuning part. At the end I only paid him USD 1500 for the tuning bit which I think is a song! The car now flies at 480-500bhp for everyday use and on the track it roars around pushing Modenas and even Marinellos aside at full 605bhp.
I am really pleased with it. It has been 3 months since I the mods, everyday usage, 3 times to tha track on HOT HOT days and absolutely trouble free. It's worth the money!:sun:

There were 2 R34s which were tuned by him - mildly tuned up to 480 hp using 2510s if I am not mistaken.
Gonthrax, thanks. The M5? Yeah...the driver was so like "look-at-me-I-have-a M5" and "I-am-gonna-trash-u-around" kinda attitude and so I spanked him! I mean I don't normally race on the road but that kind of moment...I could not resist it!:silly2:
