reccomend an amp for 2 fosgate POWERS

hey guys, i recently bought 2 10" fosgate power HK2 subs. my cuzin has them installed and the things are insane.

ok the sub stats are:
1000 rms
2000 peak
2 x 2ohms rating

my question is what kind of amp do i need to power these babies? mono, 2 channel? 2000 watts? 1000 watts? any particular brand names? and also, whats the significance of the ohm stuff? and last question. how does one determine the amp wattage to get the full potential out of certain speakers?

well thanks in advance guys, peace!

depends on what you want to spend. I have a single Hk2 running off a Bridgedd 800 watt punch amp and its sounds great.
If you really wanted to push those speakers you could spend $700 and get a pair of these...

At 1000 watts each im sure it would sound sweet.

It all depends on what you want to spend and what kind of sound you are looking for.
I prefer to keep to Rockford Fosgate for my amps as they are solid and stable.
as for Ohm's it is a mesurment of resistance though a speaker. 4 Ohm's will be twice as quiet as a 2 Ohm load on a speaker, but twice as hard on the amp. There is alot to it, but its great info if you plan on building your own system. I would recomend you read up on it

just know that the better the amp is the lower the Ohm rating on it.

is this the older model Power because i have not seen an HK2 before..unless u mean HX2?

either get 2 amps (each one stable to 1 ohm) or one big amp that is stable to at least 2ohm. how much are u looking to spend on the amp?

sorry i cant read well in the dark i guess it is the HX2. after a long time thinking, i decided i might as well go with just one 12" or even a 10", cuz im not planning on blasting rap for a 10 block radius... just some good quality heavy metal. im guessing if the sub is 1000 watts rms, i can get an amp thats like mono ~800 watts x 2 ohms, and itll be all good rite?
