This has been bugging the hell out of me.

My first time at the drag strip (1/8th mile) my best run had a reaction time of : +00.2867

Usually anything below 0.500 is tripping the red light, unless one of those pro trees are used, but I never red lighted once the entire 7 runs I made. I don't get it how does that work?

Maybe it was measuring zero as .500?

So your reaction time would be like .52867?

Not sure whatelse could be the case... seems logical to me.

Yup, RED is rigth. NHRA rules now state a perfect start as 0.000 instead of the old 0.500 sec. So the old way you're R/T would be .7867 sec. Most tracks I've seen haven't updated their trees yet. Guess your local track is NHRA sanctioned.

.2867 + the .500 = .7867

Maple Grove Raceway is an NHRA track (they are coming this weekend) and I know their timing is still on .5 and .4 (pro). I just ran there this weekend.

.

Ugh why do they have to make it more complicated? How does that work for pro lights as well?
