Exclamation Need Mods for 97 GP GT

I was wondering if someone good give me some starter mods for my 97 GP GT 4-door. I love the car, although i'm only 18 and i got like 2 G's to push around...anyone got and ideas for me? Looking for performance mainly...so anything w/ HP. THANKS!

P.S. I think i might have the DHP chip already, cause when i stomped it last week it shifted past 6000...but i have to get under the hood soon and check for it.

Um..shifting past 6000 doesn't mean that you have a DHP PCM I've had mine shift at 6500 already on the stock PCM.

A new high-flow downpipe or catback exhaust would be one of my first upgrades, as well as a new intake. I prefer FWI, but lots of people like CAIs.

Man the first thing u gotta do, is rip out the stock air box and move the PCM then either get a cone filter or performance airbox from zzperformance or what ever. taking out the stock air box and replacing it with a cone alone will add 5 hp. next easy mod take the car to a muffler shop and have them remove the U-joint in the exaust another lil bit of HP addage. for the actual motor the best Power comes from replaceing the cams, rocker arms, push rods, and the PCM replacement. New headers and exaust also with do alot for yeah performance, looks and sound.

Um....U-Joint? You mean U-bend?

As far as cams, rocker arms, and pushrods...I don't recommend changing the pushrods on a GT. It's not worth it. And you need a lot of supporting mods before you go throwing a cam and headers on a car. Rocker arms and a DHP PCM wouldn't be a bad start.
