Need mods for '88 ciera w/ the 2.5 lt!!!

Hey, im new 2 here and i picked up an '88 ciera for dirt cheap. Im not gunna make it an all-out drag car, but im into cars (duh) and i would like sum tips/ things that i can get for my ciera. Im new to oldmobiles in general and i have no idea where 2 even begin looking for parts for my newly aquired car. And all those rice haters out there, im with ya, but dont judge me just cause i gotta 4 cyl. Its american and it sounds cool with the performance exhaust (thats all i got). Thanx guys.

Your 2.5 is half of a 302, 4" bore and 3" stroke. Some have roller lifters too. The intake and exhaust ports and intake area of the combustion chamber look a little restrictive but would be some interesting R&D on the airflow. Is yours a throttle body injection motor?
I had a cracked head on my '86 and am presently changing it. Pontiac may have a performance head for the 2.5, try doing a search.
