Cylinder Head Torque Sequence

Does anyone know the correct sequence in tightening the head bolts. I downloaded the manual but it isn't really clear after #5.

Lightbulb

Yo...

u basically start in the middle and work out to the edges...

8 6 2 4 10

9 3 1 5 7

Torque to 49 lbs/ft. #1 is on the exhaust side, and #2 is on the intake side

Beat me to it. Also, torque them first to like 29 lbs, then do them over again to 49.

Thumbs up more data

haha...yeah..thanks for the tip too....stepping the torque helps avoid the block or head fromn warping I think...

Also...lube the bolt threads with clean oil, and make sure where the bolts go in the block are cleaned out (water or oil in the bolt holes will give you a bad torque reading since it doesn't compress as your spin a bolt down in the hole) - - blow that shit out with compressed air!

oh yeah..here is the manual page..maybe it is a little clearer
