Which cam?

I am trying to find out as much as I can before I start in my spare a6 rebuild. I am considering getting an exospeed cam or a webcam cam. Which would anyone pick and why? I am leaning for the exospeed one becasue I have heard a lot of good things about them. I am going to put in zc pistons and get the head ported and polished if this helps anyone. Thanx for the insight, I just want to know as much as I can before I start the builup.

i got one for you...delta cams regrinds....total money spent....$100 but they do need you core....the 272 regrind is a very good n/a cam....its got a lopey idle how ever....it is a fairly large cam....id go with that considering the price...also there regrinds dont wear out like others....47k miles and still looks like brand new on my girls car.

dirty91crx thanx for the info. WHere can I find out more about delta cams? Also the core isn't a problem because I have a complete d16 with tranny waiting to be rebuilt and I also have a spare d16 with a crack in the block but the head is good.

yeah I went there, but they don't have much information such as what cams they have and the prices also what h.p. increase you can expect. I guess I will just have to call them. Thanx for the help. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

CRxtc thanx for the link. Also if I do build up my engine with a new cam, zc pistons, p&p head, will I even be able to pass emissions? I don't knwo the laws so if i can't even use the motor after I build it thent here is no reason to even do all this research.

you can still pass emissions if your tuned right....most times with a cam you either run too lean or a lil rich....kinda like my turbo...lol IMO i say go turbo...we installed a home made turbo on a 89 crx si...it turned a 13.9 in stock trim with drag radials...and still very drivable....heh ever had traction problems? comes with turbos!

traction problems come with power.....ever had your car break loose when shifting into 3rd?

i am not talking about breaking loose like that i am talking about you are full throttle in second and you shift into third and break lose.....thats a crazy feeling

If I go home made turbo then I will still have to build up my motor wont I? Also roughly how much would a home made turbo set up run me? I am starting to think maybe turbo is the way to go...let me know a rough estimate because building up my a6 n/a wont be cheap either...Thanx for the insight.
