tach install
I just got a new tach for my 95 civic dx. I was wondering if anyone here has installed a tach on one of these cars before and could offer me some advice as I am very inexperienced when it comes to cars. I mostly need to know about where to drill... where to connect the wires, etc... Any help would be appreciated.

wrong . . .
OK, I took the time to search through the internet, I did exactly as you said, searching every open forum for something relating to tach installs. I came up with 8 results, none of which were perticularly useful to me in any way. I haven't found a single how-to on my car that really explains how to do things... So if anyone could spare a minute and just give me some pointers I would really appreciate it.

there should be three wires for the tach, a positive (red), a ground (black), and a signal wire (someother color, usually green or blue or something). the positive and ground need to go to any other wires that are just that, the easiest and most accessible is your cigarette lighter. the red to red and black to black. the other wire needs to go to the solid blue wire coming from your Ignition control module (by your distributor) if you don't know what or where those things are, buy a haynes guide at your local pep boy's / autozone / kragen /whatever. there are already holes so don't drill any, just use the ones with plastic grommets in your firewall. take out the plastic grommet and fish the wire through with a clothes hanger. any other problems PM me and i'll help you out.
