Plz Help! my car keeps stalling

I own a 1994 bonneville SE
The car since ive owned it has always had a strange studder when coming out of a stop. like as if the parking brake was on when u started moving.

Now just 3 days ago on my way home from work the car just died.. just turned off. i started it up again and made my way home but it died 4 more times on the way. My local mechanic didnt know what was causing it. MY Fuel pump and filter are both new. My friend said it was probably the EGR valve so i changed that my self but it still dies.. The car when u drive it has very little power the accelleration is slow like it takes 8 seconds to get to 40 mph and the engine sounds weak.. I just had the oil done at jiffy lubes. and all my spark plugs are working..

I really cant aford to bring this to a mechanic again so they can work on it for hours on end and find some 30 dollar item to fix and 300 dollars worth of work.. I just got rid of my lesabre because it cost me 400 to fix a crash paid 3 months of insurance with no car fixed the fuel filter fuel injector and fuel pump twice because the mechanic never emptied out my gas tank which had dirt and water in it from some jerk.

And now i just bought this car which has been running great the 2 weeks ive owned it. I only make 100 dollars a week so im really screwed if its big =P

If anyone has any input on what might be the problem please feel free to reply to this thread.. I really need help..

Thanks

What you my be feeling is a misfire caused by a bad coil or module. This problem could compound into a clogged catalytic converter.
when the car cuts off, you need to determine what it is losing...fuel or spark...that will lead you in the direction of what is causing the problem.
A little time spent diagnosing the problem in a logical order will save you some headaches and a lot of money.

Arrow ok

ok i took it in to a mechanic to have it them do diagnostics to the car.
The readings all said like low air presure, low air pressure on just about everything there was like 4 low air pressure and 1 egr valve error not reading or something..
Its a brand new egr valve that i just put in it after it started going bad like this.. The vacume lines are all sound and secure.. Just to make sure i went and bought like 20 feet of lines and replaced just about all of them. But it still says this.. The mechanic wants me to fix the problem with the air before he works on the car. I have absolutly no idea what to do. Please help me or send me in the right direction. I cant aford to bring this to a gm dealership they cost like 75 bucks just for them to hook the car to a computer and i make only around 100 a week.

If anyone knows for things i could check to make sure are working or check or some other things that might be wrong with it please let me know.

ALso before this happened I put into my gas some injector cleaner i put a full bottle into the tank then filled it up like it told me.. The tank got to about half empty when this problem started.. Could it in anyway be the gas mixture?

Did they give you a list of the codes? the numbers?
Your mechanic wants you to fix your car before he works on it? Doesn't make any sense there....IMHO he is screwing you!
The money you have spent already on parts that didn't fix your problem, you could have taken it to the dealer and had them diagnos it.
You need to find a reliable, knowledgable and well trained technician to look at your car.
We can help you here, but you have to give us some good solid information...trouble codes, things you have checked

Lightbulb

ok he got the codes 112 thats like the temp sensor low and code 122 that was the throttle position low

He told me to go buy the throttle position sensor and put that one in first to see if the engine light would go off... Anyone here know if a throttle position sensor would cause the problems im having.. I already bought the piece for 60 bucks just waiting till tomorow to put it on because the car is to steaming hot to do anyhting now..

Btw the reason he is not doing it himself is because he is doing this part for me for free.

Well i would like to know because i dont want to install that piece if it wont fix it..

he also said that the temp sensor didnt need to be replaced first and that could stay there.. is it fine to have a temp sensor low onyour car? does it effect anything?

As always i enjoy your input.. Off to work now to make my 50 pennies

The 112 code is for the intake air temp sensor which is mounted on the air filter box or on the duct between the air filter box and the trottle body.
The 122 is for the TPS.
Before I would replace any part, I would check to see if the wiring is good and the voltages are correct.
The TPS is a 3 wire sensor.
The black wire is ground, the gray wire should be your 5volt reference and the blue wire is the signal back to the ECM.
The code means that the ECM is reading no voltage on the blue wire. This could mean that the sensor is bad, the wire is open or the ECM is bad.
First, disconnect the connector at the TPS and using a voltmeter, with the key on/engine off (KO/EO) check the voltage between the gray wire and the black wire. It should read 5 volts. If it does, that part is good.
If not, check between the gray wire and a good ground. If it reads 5 volts than there is a problem on the black wire, if it doesn't read 5 volts than there is a problem with the gray wire.
Secondly, Reconnect the connector at the TPS and Lower the ECM down and back probe the blue wire where it enters the ECM (dont jab your test probe down inside the connector, remove the wire retention tab and touch the back of the connector)
to ground. KO/EO...It should read about .4volts...press the gas pedal and see if the voltage goes up to a max of 5.0 volts.
If the voltage changes, the TPS and wiring are good and the ECM is at fault.
If the voltage doesnt change, check the blue wire for being open...if it is OK than replace the TPS
When you replace the TPS, if it is adjustable, set it to .4 volts.
