Re: Car Keeps stalling

Oh no, you let those mechanics change your fuel pump, shame on them. Just kidding.

I agree with the previous poster. I would look for vacuum leaks. This can include intake manifold gasket, cracked power brake booster diaphragm (but your brakes would act funny at some point) any and all hose connections on the intake or a missing hose.

Re: My Car Keeps Stalling

Also the rubber gromet/1 inch connector assembly where the PCV valve enters the intake. Replace the PVC valve while you are ion the area. Some folk can do this with the alternator installed but I moved the alternator to get to it.

hoses

We had the same problem with our 1991 Century (God rest its soul). We changed some hoses and the problem was solved, easy as that. These guys probably have the right advice on that one!

You might have a torque converter problem. On the side of the transmission there is plug (usually blue) about 5 wires. Try unpluging it and see if it helps. At around 45mph in overdrive the electronic tcc engages, when you press the brake its supposed to disengage. Sounds like that is not happening. It the same as stopping a 5spd in 5th gear with out depressing the clutch. Let me know if this helps

Ditto, You are describing a classic TCC problem. This is a know issue with all GM cars. Good Luck.
