Question A Moment

One day my bestfriend had finished splashing around in the creek back home (35 degrees that day), and as we layed down in the sun on a large boulder to dry off, we began talking about our latest loves. Our conversation eventually made it's way to the idea of a perfect moment, a perfect hour, a perfect afternoon. While after a long discussion, we concluded between the two of us that a perfect hour or a perfect afternoon is not possible, we were torn on the idea of a perfect moment. So...

Do you think that perfect moments exists? If you've experienced one, please do share. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say.

Only moments I get aside from wifey is when a new car arrives in my mail. I collect 1:18 scale cars and when I first see it, it's like time freezes.

ive had a perfect moment. I was sking at big sky last spring (went to school in Bozeman) and i had a run where everything came together. it was a pretty cool experience. I would say that was as close as I've come to bliss/the perfect moment. I will remember that day for the rest of my life. I would say that day changed my life. anyway thats my story

I know I've had several so far and they seem to happen ever five or six years. Except when you are a child, there are many many days where its just perfect. You have no worries or responsibilities and are as care free as you'll ever be.

One of the most recent was last summer. My fiance was up for the week and we grabbed our fishing poles and headed down to the pier to try our luck. The night was warm and clear. There was no moon and the stars shined brightly. We talked about our future life together while just casting and realing our lines. I dont even remember if we caught any fish, but I do remember completely contentment. I wish I could bottle that day for when things are tough. It may not sound like much, but it was definate "you had to be there" kind of time.

To answer my own question...

I would have to say that having a perfect moment is possible. How long they last is another story, but I do believe that you can have a moment where everything just seems to fall into place, to fit right, leaving you with a lasting memory that will make you smile for years down the road. Now, I honestly can't remember the last time that I experienced a perfect moment. It's been a very long time. And then I tend to wonder if we realize that it's a perfect moment at the time. Maybe it's something that we realize after the fact. I can say that I've had moments where I've consciously thought about how much I wanted to remember the way things were at just that moment.

So...to share a moment.

Last fall, someone I was getting very close to took me dancing for the first time. Neither of us knew the steps as it was informal ballroom dancing at the local Grange Hall. A little old man took me onto the dance floor and taught me, while his wife took him out onto the floor and taught him how to lead. Then, after a little bit, they threw us back together. Once we came back together and we fumbled our way through the first few minutes, we ended up just laughing together as we "danced", or at least attempted to. I laugh about it even know.

That was very, very close to a perfect moment.
