The racing world suffered a major loss this weekend with the passing of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. I take comfort that he died partaking in his life's passion, but this does little to lessen the tragedy. Hard to believe that the multi-car (I think 19 total) pile-up at another point in the race resulted in no injuries, yet Earnhardt's crash into the barrier was fatal.

Rest in Peace, Dale.

Yes, it is sad he died. I watched the race, and it was very good. I belive it was Earnhardt, who earlier in teh race shook his fist at some guy who bumped him. Only a few hours latter, he was dead. I was hoping he was OK, but I guess the deceleration was just too much. For those who don't know what happened, it was the last lap, about a mile from the finsih. He was bumbed, and then he corrected, and I think he go tbumbed again (accidentally, of course) in his right rear. This sent him into the wall at 180mph, the deceleration killed him. He has been racing longer than I have been alive, and he will be missed. If you read this, please take a minute of silence for one of NASCAR's greatest.

It seems so wierd that he is not going to be in the race this Sunday, which my brothers are going to. I wish I had a ticket but still have to pay off the Kia so I have barely enough money from my check left over to buy stuff for me.....Although the car is all I really need.

Ahkmid.
