Just received something nice in the mail...

I'm in my senior year in high school, and started the search for a school for me. I sent my application into Kettering University. Just a couple days ago, I received my acceptance letter. I'm looking forward to this since I've had about enough high school as I can take.
I'm going to have grab a jacket, though. I don't even have one(not much need for me).

Hey, I broke a 1000 posts.

Thanks.

Kettering University is in Flint, Michigan. It was formerly General Motors Institute. It's renowned for its engineering and in specific, its automotive engineering program.

Kettering has an awesome co-op program. Starting your first year, every 3 months you switch from school to work. So what would normally be taught in 18 weeks is crammed into 11 weeks here. That equates to a very hectic school schedule, but the benefits are nice.

I'm looking forward to it.

So you're going to come fix my car when I mess up parts of it?

I was looking at that school. I decided that I don't think I'm gonna go because there really isn't anything other then the college there. I heard Flint was a pretty boring place.

Yes, but in places like that (from personal experience), the young ladies tend to get restless....

..but their dads own large guns, so be smart...

I went to look at the campus during the summer, and from what I saw it wasn't that great of a town. I really didn't spend any time looking around at the city, though.

Even though Flint isn't a bustling metropolis, there are larger cities located nearby. And if I were so inclined, I could even go over to Canada, but I don't know what would cause me to do that...

While Flint isn't a fraction of the town it used to be, Kettering is a fantastic school. Congratulations! I still have a problem not calling it GMI, but whatever the name may be, its an elite school.

Yo,
There are a ton of colleges that are in relatively boring towns. Basically, you have a large group of post-high school people all in one place, pretty much every college is fun and it's the experiences (good and bad) inside and outside of classes that will make it memorable.
