Gallardo Current Market Value?
I'm in the market for another new car and have been quite intrigued about the new Lamborghini Gallardo. I have been searching around, DupontRegistry and Lamborghini authorized dealerships and noticed the current premium for the Gallardo is roughly $35K above sticker or about $210K for E-Gear/Metallic/Brakes/etc. I've also seen it hold this price on Ebay. What is everyone else seeing?
Also, as far as waiting lists goes. What are the shortest waiting lists in the country? I called about 6 dealers and found 2 years in Dallas, 3-4 years in Miami, and around 1 year up North. Anyone know of anything shorter? Thanks in advance. Danilo 2002 Ferrari 360 Spyder F1 2002 BMW M3 Conv SMG 2003 Infiniti FX45 |

what I have seen...
I have a deposit down at this time on a Gallardo (est. delivery May 2004) and another on a Gallardo Spider (2005-06). So, I have been watching the market for a while now. Waiting list is at least 2 years now everywhere I have seen. Two dealers I know have had customers sell their "first delivery" places in line for $35K and $50K over list for the e-gear equipped hardtops. With only 300 hardtops coming to USA during the next year, my bet is that the market for any Gallardo will be quite frothy (+20-40% over list for nearly new cars) through 2004, returning to normal list pricing in late 2004/early 2005 when the Spider is announced and final specs are available. Then , the Spider will probably take off even more than the hardtop, given the low numbers to be produced.
All of this assumes that the Gallardo is not a lemon, of course. However, any worries about performance have already been eased by recent track tests by the automotive press. Best of luck. 360 Modena F1 BMW 740il Ford Expedition |
