What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

I know they are worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay, but....
What is the (sort of average) price the different specs of McLaren are [supposedly worth] / [have been sold for recently for] / [have been seen on the market for] ?:
McLaren F1 (stock!) road car
McLaren F1 HDF
McLaren F1 HDF LM engine
McLaren F1 LM
McLaren F1 road car XP
McLaren F1 LM XP
McLaren F1 GT
McLaren F1 GT XP
and any other additional models such as GTRs if any of you know.
Thankyou!

Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

From someone in the know my prices were a little off.

Standard - more than I offered
HDK - about the same as standard
LM - my offer was far too low
GT's - apparently the black sheep of the family, which surprised me, as I thought the rarer they are the more sought after they would be......
GTR's [except those with great provenance eg #01R] - less than standard
XP's - only XP5 would be a bit above standard

Anomolies will happen [#065!] but these are basically there or thereabouts where the market is at

So roughly, how much are we talking now, relative to my original post?

Ok. Never heard before this...
What this is? A option when the car has been ordered at the new?...?

I think it's been said before, but we don't think any F1's were delivered to their original owners with the HDF kit on, they were all retro-fitted at a later date.

The HDF kit comprises of rear wing, extended arches, maybe vents on top of the wings, revised front bumper and in most cases GTR type wheels [I may have forgotten a couple of things ]

OK! It just what I expected.
And this HDF-kit is an orginal McLaren option package?

As stated perviously, this was not (as far as we know) an original option with the McLaren F1s, however it was an option for retro-fitting (the cars being sent back to the factory and it being fitted). The car was launched before the '95 GTRs, the first cars to feature the HDF, so certainly on the first batch of cars, it could not have been an option straight from the factory.
But, yes, this is not an after-market company's addition, but a true McLaren 'upgrade'.
Hope this clarifies things!

Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

For all the F1s we are aware of that wear the HDF Kit today, none of them were originally constructed that way. The last one that remained an unknown was #072, and we eventually saw photos of that one being built inside the factory without it.

As for the values, I won't debate any of the numbers presented by Greg as I think they are all pretty fair. There has been a lot of movement in the price in the past 3-5 years, but perhaps we are due for a correction, or maybe F1 prices will weather this economic storm the world is facing right now.

I know that when #068 changed hands from Frank to Richard that the price was pretty close to the top of the market in 2005, but the figure would be considered a bargain today. Funny how that works.

Yep, now it's totally clear to me. Thanks your time to explain this a longer way.
It's like I almoust thought at the begining, but now it's clear. Of course I should have release this knowing the history of the F1 road car. It would be really big suprise for me, if this would have been an after market product. But it isn't so that's is a good thing!

#18 was priced at 3.5 million US dollars back in March 2007 at Automobil Manufaktur in Singapore. I asked the dealer.

True, but that car has an extensive servicing with some upgrades.

Also it has the HDF... and more importantly it is one of only 2 road F1's that had the LM engine.

The price quoted was far less actually. It was 1.35MM Pounds Sterling. At the time it would have been about $2.7MM. An unbelievable price for what you were getting. Especially now.

The least expensive road F1 that I know of now is about $2.7MM. Most are $3MM or more.

I believe that not only will the F1 get through this economic crisis unscathed, but it will further appreciate.

Just my .02 cents.
