McLaren F1 GTR Hitotsuyama Racing Team

I have been looking for a model mclaren for a long time, then one day in a model shop i saw one.. a V-ONE S build-it-yourself model kit 1/10 scale petrol engine remote control McLaren F1 GTR Hitotsuyama Racing Team.

Its not exactly what i wanted, but hey beggers cant be chosers.

Anyway, the only pics i can find of this car is a 1/18 scale model

http://www.royalediecast.com/McLaren...20Pictures.htm

does anyone have more information this car? does it still exist? pictures of the real car? anything really as im just interested in what im building!

BTW i have all the chassis built up, i made a fiber-glass copy of the body (better then the flimsy plastic crap they supplied) and am about to stat applying the decals. Cant wait to start her up apperantly it can go 40mph..

heres some info on the model (ignore the pic at top, its just another caes, whats under its the same) http://www.towerhobbies.com/products.../kyoc0463.html

This is the "spare parts GTR" also known as 29R, though I don't believe it wears that as a chassis plaque, as I do not believe that McLaren Cars had a direct hand in building it. This car is quite a mystery.

It has raced under at least two other liveries - the "Purpose" livery and most recently it has been painted yellow and races with "Yellow Corn" sponsorship. I believe it is the only F1 GTR still racing competitively anywhere in the world. It's worn the Yellow Corn logos for about 3 years IIRC. I have sent several emails to the Hitotsuyama team trying to gain more info about this car, but I have never seen a reply.

I have some pictures of the real car wearing the "ZERO" livery. I'll try to put some up for you this weekend.

Here are photos of each of the Hitotsuyama liveries I mentioned:

I'll post a few more of the ZERO livery specifically later.

If anyone knows more about the circumstances surrounding this car, I'd be really interested in hearing about them.

Great! Do you have any pics of the back?

I can see some differenaces in the model and that first pic, mainly the bottom of the front bumper being black.

The back is quite awful on the model tho.. flat and terrible (although my mould got a dent it in so its not that flat now )

Well there's white corn:

There's blue corn:

There's even speckled corn:

But I still prefer "Yellow Corn"

Oh yeah... I'm supposed to be posting pictures of the ZERO livery.

Sad news - not one shot of the rear of the real car in my collection of photos. I guess the rear of the car just isn't all that impressive. I do have one shot of the rear on the 1/43rd diecast though. Hopefully that will help you out.

Yeah, none of the longtail GTRs had rear windows. Even some of the normal GTRs in '96 went without rear windows and had solid engine covers.

In looking at the photos I have of the two F1 GTs (longtail road car), I don't believe those had rear windows either. Neither car seems to have the interior rear view mirrors found on the standard road car which supports my thinking.

IIRC in 1996, DPR (Dave Price Racing) did there own development kit on there two GTR's (West and Harrods) rather than take the 96 McLaren update. These included carbon panels for the rear windows and a new flared in Skirts. I think the air intake on the roof was also extended forward but cant be sure on that
