2 "new" pics of 97 McLaren GTRs

I scanned in my pictures from when I attended the GT finals at Laguna Seca in 1997 a while ago...not sure if you folks have seen them before. There's two pics of the longtails.

Coincidentally, I ran into the BMW longtail again last summer when I was at the factory.

Here's all the pics:

The McLaren pics are:

Thanks for sharing your pictures!!

I was there that day too - though unfortunately without a camera.

I really thought that McLaren had a strong chance to steal the season that day, but as many will know it wasn't to be. It was still a dream to see those cars competing here in the USA after watching them on Speedvision for those three years during the BPR and FIA seasons. It's a shame that the McLarens had already dropped out of the 1998 season when the race returned to Laguna Seca the following year.

Also, for those who haven't been to Laguna Seca, the scenery isn't much, but the track layout is simply spectacular. I'd love to run on it sometime in my life and will find a way to make that happen whether its through a club event or racing school.

Peloton, I do a ton of track days at Laguna. Car and bike. And my friends do too. Anytime you are up here, let me know, and I am sure I can get you a ride in one or more exotics. Don't know if you are into bikes, but I would let you take mine out if you like...only if you know how to ride properly though!

I know how to ride a motorcycle - but I'm certainly not comfortable enough on one to take it around a track, especially a track like Laguna. I'd get the front wheel off the ground at the top of the corkscrew and slide to the bottom I'm sure!! It would not be a pretty sight!

Thanks for the offer - I'm just not sure when I'll be up in that area again. It turns out that I might not even make it to Pebble Beach and the Italian Concours again this year as I need to be someone's guest at a wedding so she has someone to dance with. Argggggh!!!!!!

Peloton, going back to the original topic of this thread, now that you mention it, there's another pic of the Davidoff car.

It's a little blurred, but the cornerworker would be proud!
