Unhappy Help with JDM Integra CG Tranny!

I have an 86-89 ZC out of an Integra (not CRX), and it has a CG Tranny on it. I need to weld mounts, but I can't figure out where the stock mounts went on the CG Integra Tranny. Any help/pictures/info would be great!

Thanks,
--Josh

So you have the D16 DOHC from a US integra? What do you mean by a CG trans? The mount should have two pieces. A plate that bolts to the tranny, and then a mount that goes from the plate to the frame of the car. The plate is held on by 3 bolts, 14mm I think, and the mount bolts to that with two 17mm bolts. Then a long 17mm goes thru the mount into the frame. I can send you pics, but not till tomorrow. Also, I do not think that the stock integra mounts mount right up to the civic or crx frame, and that they have to modified, most people don't even bother with that motor or trans.

Unhappy

It is a ZC, not a D16A1. It's a long, expensive, and painful story why I have things the way I have them. My Si engine blew a head gasket, and had a lot of miles on it, so instead of fixing it, I got the bright idea of swapping engines. I knew someone who did that kind of work and had him swap a ZC in for me using my Si tranny... Life was good. A week later the clutch started slipping, and it just got worse and worse. I took it back to the mechanic after about two weeks and he said it was the rear main seal, oil on the clutch... Great. So he installed a new rear main, so I'm out more money... But life was good. Car ran fine, no more slipping. Within about 50 miles of that I was heading up the freeway, going about 70mph and *blam* there's a loud sound and the engine stops dead. My rear main seal blew, which at 70mph had its definitive repercussions. The mechanic refused to work on it or take any responsibility for it. So, I was able to get a new block which I needed, from a friend of mine, not knowing it was an Integra ZC and not a Civic ZC... The difference being the Civic ZC bolts to a Si or ZC tranny, and the Integra ZC bolts to a CG tranny. Thus neither my Si, nor the Civic ZC tranny that it is interchangeable with will fit my block. So I got ahold of a CG tranny. (By this point I just want my God forsaken car running again) It bolts up! Yay! But of course... The mounts don't line up. I asked a friend of mine with welding skills to help me make some mounts. He made a front tranny mount but....... And here's my question... Where are the mounts supposed to go on a CG Tranny, which goes to an 86-89 Integra? As specific as possible, and if anyone can find pictures I would be forever in your debt.

Thanks,
--Josh

im gonna let you know right now....the L3 tranny will bolt up to the zc block....only difference is the clutch. you will need an 89-91 si clutch to use the 89-91 L3 tranny. or the 89 L3 and clutch. so if it downs wort are you sure its a jdm zc? wait a min the zc and usdm teg motor is the same externally. something is wrong here if you couldnt get an L3 to bolt up.

I know. Call me a nutcase, but the L3 wouldn't bolt up. I sold it to a friend of mine with an Si and it bolted up... Got a CG and it bolted up to my ZC just fine. But..... There's no place for me to weld the rear mount. Soooo... I think I'm going to just part out the car. *sigh* Thanks for your help everyone.

Sadly,

This shows what a CG tranny is and it's applications. I don't think any shops will fab this mount for me because it is a liability issue. If the mount was to break, it would be thier liability. Anyways... Need any parts off a CRX? hehe...
