i didn't know this was here! cool!

i make models too! after a few years assembling ww2 military peices and winning prizes at shows, i ventured into cars. escort cosworth rally cars, lorries, and recently just completed an AMT 1969 corvette in black with red interior, detailed engine and running gear just as i would do if i had one, an AMT corvette with an eckler kits but done up as pro street, my own handiwork complete with wheely bars.

just started converting a chevy pickup swb (looks like an astro) with dodge viper wheels. inner arches removed for clearance and to build a mini tubed frame. its going to be fantastic if i ever finsh it. i like modifying kits cos they never make what you want so i get satisfaction in building something unique. i'm getting an AMT camero Z28 kit for crimbo and i hope to make a pro street out of that!

i'll take some pictures and post them on the thread when i get em developed.

Jebus, I have a hard enough time just building a good looking stock kit. Can't wait to see some pics.

jeez, this has got me started now! found a box of old models, some of my earlier handiwork. think i'll touch them up, repair a few and take pictures of those too. it'll be a while so be paitent! i also like 'recyclying' cars. cars you buy already made up but badly done so you treat it as a mini restoration project! (but i tend to go overboard!)

the chevy pick up is coming along (another resto project) the body is already modded. de handled, inner arches removed. i don't know whether to modify the existing chassis or fabricate my own, sort of pro street type. it's going to be on the deck with dodge viper wheels (fat ones onthe back)

i'm not that good but i do what i can to be creative and unique. thats what i get satisfaction from. i can't afford to do it in real life!

And this is what counts. Knowing that you did something different. I'm sure the guys here will tell you stories about how they went in a different direction when building something. Starts out one way, then goes 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

update on the chevy pickup. started building the chassis from scratch. the body has been converted to a 'funny-car' type body. the chassis now runs about half way into the body! (it's for the extra slammed look) i'm using the existing suspension and underbody fitments to make it realistist as possible. only snag is that i'm not making a separate chassis, so i'm cheating a bit. i'm building it all complete so once painted you won't be able to tell. (i hope) i've used the original interior, but fabricated a new higher trans tunnel, the engine box is raised for clearance. when the body/chassis is finished i shall prep it up (removing old paint, mouldings) as its an old model, (one of my re-cons) it's coming together and with the viper alloys, it looks hard, even unfinished. once it's done i'll take piccies of it.
