Question timing chain

After conversations with my local dealer, and consulting my manual, I have no idea if my X has a timing belt or chain. Do any of you guys know? Also, when should I replace it if it has a belt? 2000 SE 4x4. Thanks for your time

I'm 95% sure the I-4 has a timing chain. The V6 has a timing belt.

And I'll go one more step...

...the timing BELT on the V6 is scheduled to be changed every 105,000 miles and, ahem, it's in the owner's manual.

What really scares me is how often I hear that a dealer doesn't know these things.

I'm with you Chuck. The emoticons don't seem to work from my Mac but I had yours in mind. Be warry of dealerships who don't know what's in your truck. (screwy emoticon here).
