Have a 91 Honda Civic EX, 1.6L, the heater fan will not come on, I have checked all of the fuses and they are good. Can the fan motor be checked without taking it out of the car?
Would any one have a wiring diagram for this car? |

Grab a voltmeter and disconnect the fan's electrical connector. Jump the voltmeter wires to the connector. With the ignition on accessories turn on the fan and you should receive a voltage reading on each of the four settings (only last two speed settings work on mine.....a bad connection in the speed selector relay prevents 1 and 2 from working.....lol). If you get a reading on at least one of the four settings replace the fan ($7 CDN from my local junkyard about 2 years ago...). If you do not get any voltage readings you should probably replace the speed selector relay; but you should check all wires anyhow.
P.S.: Search the forum for the link to the helms manual and the suplement; it has the wiring diagrams you're looking for. |

check water coolant temp sensor too...simply take the sensor plug out then get a wire and connect both wires in the plug(kinda making a u shaped wire)...if the fan works then replace the sensor ($20) from the dealer maybe less.
