Question anout Tamiya semi-gloss black spray paint for the body. (ive done a search)
Hi guys.
I was wondering have any of you modellers ever used Tamiya's semi-gloss spray paint for the main coat on the car body? I have a Aoshima c-west RX7 and I thought that painting it black would look cool with the gold wheels and logos! I was going to paint it in normal gloss black but then I though semi-gloss black would look cool, more like a circuit car. I am not the best painter and If I used the tamiya gloss black spray then I might get some orange peel whereas the semi-gloss is much smoother and doesn't get orange peel right, but more matte?? Also if I decided to clear gloss over the semi-gloss black (both tamiya) would the finish look munted or ok? A FEW questions but I just need some guidence. Thanks |

Here's a link to P-Man's Skyline painted in gloss black:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/scal.../pman/R32.html I dunno if the gloss paint will give you less orange peel, It really depends on the modeler.

Tamiya's semi-gloss black spray paint is easier to apply than gloss black. It's very forgiving, and I'll bet you won't have any trouble applying it smoothly. I use a ton of it; it's great stuff.
