Unhappy Mazda 323F/Lantis - Tuning/Modifying

Ok, I'm in the British Army and I'm based in Osnabruck, Germany. Before I came back to my unit after summer leave I bought a 323F, I've had it lowered 40mm and I've got 17" Khan RSR alloys on it.

For the last couple of hours I've been searching away on the net for any signs of modifying/tuning parts and I've not found anything. A guy at Demontweeks in Wrexham told me that trying to get parts for my car is going to be near impossible as its not very popular, I've got the option of getting things custom made but I'm only a soldier, I don't get popstar wages!

What I'm trying to find out is if Mazdaspeed ever made kit for the 323F/Lantis. Things like bodykits, dampers (my car is only lowered with springs coz there's no dampers for it!), performance engine parts etc. etc. Or if Mazdaspeed never made anything for it whether anyone knows of any independant companies that do make stuff for this car.

My entire regiment is going out to Iraq soon on tour so I'm going to have a shed-load of disposable cash waiting for me when I get back coz there's not going to be a lot that we can spend our wages on out there! I don't really want to get rid of it coz its nice to drive, pretty quick for a 1.5 and I like the look of it.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I am a Lantis owner from Malaysia.

Just to share with the forum about the minor mods that I've done for my Lantis.

1) Change extractor manifold plus the whole exhaust system.

2) Thermo wrapping the extractor manifold to reduce heat in engine compartment. These heat actually generated from the extractor.

3) Spag plugs - Denso iridium one. Suppose to provide better sparks and last longer (100,000km).

4) Going to change an element air filter from K&N.

5) Going to do up grounding wiring.

6) Looking around for distributor cap to replace the original one. However, have anyone done this before. Appreciate if you could share !

That's all so far. Maybe considering bodykit for front bumper.

Hi,

I am actually residing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

An update : Replace my stock filter to K&N element. Did a dyno on car too. Only 102.6 horsepower at 6500 rpm. Torque : 127Nm at 4500rpm.

Not very fast and powerful indeed. But nevermind, coz I am not going for extreme power but aiming for smoother drive.

Check out the following:

engine tuning:

bodykits:

General:

That last link has practically everything you need to tune & modify your 323F. Great car. Seriously under-rated. It has so much potential I could never understand why more people don't modify them. Best of luck.

HI,

Try to email you but it bounced back. Anyway, I am interested to know your experience in owning a V6 2.0 engine (KF engine).

Is yours auto or manual ? Any problems with the engine ? Is the spare parts readily available ?

I can be reach at this address : [email protected]

Re: Mazda 323F/Lantis - Tuning/Modifying

ryan kong i just went shopping for mazda lantis 2 days ago,but can't find anything suitable and nice.remember to give me a call maybe we'll go shop together for the car or meet up for a tea...abt your reply abt the KF engine. The parts are pretty easy to find cause it's similiar to the 626 cronos KFZE.just that the cronos onli produce 150ps but mazda lantis j-spec has 170ps.I don't think theres a problem finding parts?i guess?
