96 Taurus radiator fan will not shut off
Here is the deal:
Fans stay on constantly even when turning the ignition off. Until the battery is drained. No other problems that are evident, no trouble code, no check engine light or other warning lights. I replaced the coolant sensor and reset the computer. Still happening... There must be a cooling fan relay or sensor, or coolant temperature switch that controls these fans. I can not find one in any of the parts stores online or otherwise. Help if you can, this is driving me nuts. |

that would be your sensors... heat sensors.. i think theres 3 or 4 of them.. and your thermostat.. plus it wouldnt help to re program the computer

not sure..but might be a relay in the radiator....temp raises...kicks the fan on...cools down..shuts it off.....just a thought

Check your CCRM Located next to the battery.
![]() Make sure the connection is snug and maybe give it a tap with the handle end of a screwdriver...worked on my 96 sable. |
