Question The impossible......I know but.....

Ok heres the deal I bought this 97gs and got a $2800 paint job before knowing what the gs stood for. So now I'm stuck with a dope ass (new word combination!) looking car that goes nowhere and thats pretty horrible when someone comes 3 lanes over just so you make a slow approach to 117mph. SO I need any input to increase the hp/lbs of torque I can get out of my gs........anything that you have will be apprciated......anything... for around $3000

thanks...

Hahn Racecraft turbo system. Friend of mine has a 98 RS. He has the stage 2 Hahn Kit and he ran a 13.9 in the 1/4 without even upgrading the exhaust or any other mods. You should be able to get the kit and install it for right around $3000. Check http://www.turbosystem.com/auto/eclipse/eclipse.htm

Me and my friend installed it over the weekend without troubles, and it's been running perfect for 6 months now at 10psi. Hahn makes quality stuff, and their customer support is ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL....sorry to sound like an ad for them, but they helped us so much on the phone without charging anything.

How has he been running 10psi for 6 months if you only installed it over the weekend?

Yeah, boosted331 is right, it took us A WEEKEND (not last weekend) to install it, amounted to about 15 hours of work with the two of us as fairly novice mechanics, not beginners, but also not pros. Wasn't tough, just the usual crap associated with working on cars, no big deal....

alright, I'm new and someone told me that you could only run 7 psi on a 4g63. So exactly how much can I run with out damaging the overall engine? And what size rims can I run without messing with the wheel well?

If you're worried about performance, BIG rims area no-no as they will alter your gearing & slow you down even more [I'm talking 18" up here b4 you guys get started !] stick to 17" to get the good looks without sapping even mopre power from the beast

Your car doesn't have the 4G63 anyway. Starting in 95 , all the NT 2G's have the 420A which is a Neon motor. 100 Hp if you are lucky. Your engine also sits on the passenger side , all cars with the 4G63T , the engine sits on the driver side.

Don't forget to bring some of the knowledge back.

7psi on a 420a might be about right. I run 20psi+ daily on a stock bottom end 4g63T.
