Don't know how the other generations are but the 4th...

has a strange glove box light that won't go on unless you have the headlight or parking switch turned on. Weird...at 1st I thought it didn't have a light till I read the manual. Dumb, I think.

Then again, maybe it's a saftey feature so at night if you pull over to look in the box you HAVE TO leave your lights on to do so.

Maybe not so dumb after all

Re: Don't know how the other generations are but the 4th...

One thing I really like about my accord is the 'can't look like a dumbass with my keys locked in my car' safety feature. I can't lock the drivers side door without using the key...although I did leave the lights on about a week ago, needed a jump. I guess Honda can't make features to stop all our stupid mistakes.

Sure you can (although maybe you shouldn't read any further<grin>)

Just hold the outside door handle open while you press the lock down. Keep holding the handle open and slam the door. Bingo - it's locked without using a key!

Or you can hold the driver's inside door handle 'open' while pressing the lock button on the inside. Then just let go and close the door.
