Hi,
I have a civic 89 LX with a 1.5L 16 Valve engine and a Dual-Point Fuel Injection system. I'm having problems with the Idle settings. The Idle specification for the car stated in the manual is as follows: - Normal Idle (P or N position) 750rpm +/- 50rpm - Fast Idle 1500rpm (about) The way my car is performing seems like it's doing exactly the reverse as what it should be. When I turn the car on and keep the car either in Parked or Neutral, the RPMs read about 1200rpm - 1300rpm. When I change gears to R or any of the Ds (D4, D2, D1) then the rpms go down to like about 750rpm - 800rpm. I'd appreciate any suggestions of what maybe causing this and how to fix it. Thanks in advanced. |

When the car is first started & cold it should idle that high. Wait til the engine warms up(fan comes on then off) then check your idle.
No problem found - See ya! |
