Question Need Help - 95 Civic running hot

I have a 1995 Honda Civic DX that has been running hot while sitting in traffic, as long as I'm moving its not a problem. I have replaced the thermostat, radiator cooling fan switch, and radiator cooling fan relay. The best I can tell the radiator cooling fan is not coming on when the motor starts getting hot, I have checked when the car is on the verge of overheating and the fan never comes on. I have straight wired the fan to the battery and the fan worked. Any other ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Radiator fan fuse?
There is also a sending unit, the name escapes me. But it controls when the fan turns on and off works with the ECU.

So do the fan fuse work? If not then I think that you might have a minor blown head gasket.(maybe!!!!)When was the last time that you change the coolant. Is the resivor tank level of the coolant normal or it is above the max limt (overflowing)? Now from my own experience I have an overheating problem and I change everthing Thermostat, fan switch, coolant temp switch, and fan fuse.Nothing work so I decide to get a compression check at it should that I had a small leak(air)instead of running at 21vacum pressure I was running between 12 and 21. And becuase of that I blow my radiator from runnig to hot so watch out(215 degress)that damm hot!!! So what I did was get a C&R aluminum radiator that I was going to get anways and put more water then coolant to fill it up. Aslo I got a 160 temp thermostat and bypass the fan switch so that it would turn on always.
The reason that I never check the water pump was because when the water pump gose bad the you overheat wether your on the freeway or not plus it will start leaking.
Did you know that you could have put a paper clip in the fan switch to turn it on instead of hooking it up to the battery.

Tell what happen

I just replaced the head gasket about 20,000 miles ago so I don't think that is it. The fuse also checked out fine. The resivor tank is at normal level. I finally got my ecm to give an error code last night.... code 6 coolant temperature sensor. I will be replacing it this weekend and will post results.

Water pumps are weird though. When mine was going, I could turn my car off for a few seconds (just let the car coast) and then turn it on and it would work fine for another few hours even. So it might be something you would want to look into, especially if you are going around replacing this and that. Don't leave any stone unturned. Plus hey might as well put something else aftermarket on the car, can always help out anyway.

Just a thought...

Coolant Temperature Sensor cleared the error code but car still runs hot. I guess I'm going to take to the shop... will post if they find anything.
