Kit Review: Airfix 1/32 Gulf Porsche 917K
Airfix Gulf Porsche 917K Kit#: 03409
I purchased this kit for $13 shipped to my door from UDISCO , a Canadian model distributor. At that price it was worth it to take a look. This is my first Airfix auto kit and my first look at a 1/32 scale vehicle. The part count is very low and the model is super simple with details lacking. My big disappointment being the lack of rubber tires, urgh . I ordered this prior to the announcement by Fujimi of their 917k release for this November. Until that announcement this kit was the cheapest and easiest to obtain plastic 917k on the market. There are some beautiful resin 917k but for big $$$. This should be a simple, fun model, and chance for me to practice and research the paint color and masking scheme for the gulf blue and orange paint job I will eventually do on the Fujimi kit. You get what you pay for with this Airfix kit but if you are a 917k fan what's not to like! When I start building this kit I will address the form and fit issues.

That looks fairly decent for the price. I'm sure you'll do it justice. One of my favorite cars. Brings back slot car memories
