Sand Paper
can anyone tell me what number sand paper I would need to sand fine dust particles out of a finished paint job. I know that I'll need to re-paint the car, but I don't want to sand away both the paint and the primer.

ummm...no. That'd probably sand through the paint really quick. For sanding out the dust, I'd use 2000 grit sandpaper, then shoot another wet coat.

im just saying i used 300 on little bubbles that i had in my paint on my R32 just a few minutes ago, it didnt sand down to the car (i dont use primer most of the time) so thats why i said 300
2000 grit is about the same as a piece of note book paper one time i was using it on a car and my brother (who works on real cars) says to me, you would be better off using a piece of note book paper on that car, so thus, my conclusion is 300 should work good. |
