What kind of primer would you use?

I think you may want to just strip it... since you used testors paint, CSC will do the job easily.

Castrol Super Clean, is a degreaser/cleaner you can get at any automotive store or Wal-Mart. Just pour it into a bucket and submerge your kit for about 3-4 hours. They pull it out and scrub the paint off with a toothbrush. Make sure you protect your hands and eyes. It's not skin friendly.

Check the FAQ's. They got a list of different things you can use to strip paint, like brake fluid and oven cleaner.

Sorry to steal the thread...but, if I had a car with decals on - do I strip the paint the same way, ie, in brake fluid?
