Ordering from Hobby Search (www.1999.co.jp)
Hi all,
I'd like to ask anyone that has ordered from this Japanese mail order house - what have your experiences been ordering from Hobby Search? Have you had any problems ordering from them? Thanks.

I have 2 boxes making their way from Japan to Edmonton, Canada right now. I chose SAL, so I have no idea how long it will take. Their website says 60-90 days, but I would imagine hobby search's SAL would be the same as HLJ's SAL, and that took about 20 days.
They do take a while to process an order though. You get confirmation instantly, but then under your order status (at least for me) it was listed as "Credit Card - we are confirming" for over a week on each order (despite using the same credit card). But, considering their prices it is all worth it. Then again, I still haven't received the cost to ship. Just given the cost of the goods, and told they shipped. Using HLJ's weights and Hobby Search's shipping scheme though, shipping SAL should have cost me something ridiculously cheap like 500 yen per parcel. I'll see when it shows up on my credit card statement how much it actually cost. Hope this helps.
