Who has ordered from www.1999.co.jp ??

Has anyone ordered model car kits from this site. Everyone seems to order their kits from www.hlj.com. This site has a large selection of kits and sometimes cheaper than hlj's ones.

One question off topic: Do Aoshima VIP wheels (or any of their wheels) fit Tamiya cars? Are the wheels a female fit or male fit??

Cheers

Aoshima VIP wheels are the same as Fujimi's (female type), you have to modifiy it to fit into tamiya's.

Female kit arrangement means that where the wheels slot onto the brake disk, there is no pin attached to the wheels. It is a typical design of Fujimi and Aoshima kits as they tend to attach wheels to metal axles. Tamiya kits have the pins moulded onto the wheels and they slot into the brake disks (the only exception that come to mind are the Subaru Impreza road going kit and the Nissan 240Z kits).

I have ordered from them before and would do so again.

The prices are reasonable and the products have always been well packaged and arrived undamaged in a reasonable time.

I would reccomend them

Alot of the older Tamiya kits had 'female' wheels. I have an R33 Calsonic GTR, and a Ferrari F40 which both have that set-up. -

So can Aoshima wheels be fitted to fujimi cars well without any modification? Also you can easily convert female wheels to male wheels by fitting some plastic/metal rod into the hole in the wheel to fit into the brake disc on the tamiya cars, right?
Also have you guys found that even the aftermarkt optional wheels sold by fujimi aren't that large and they still have fat tyres?? Aoshima ones are much larger and have lower progile tyres right?

Cheers!
