Too big?

Okay. Bought a tire and wheel package from a distressed seller on Ebay for REAL CHEAP ($800 all new in box, never mounted items). Wheels: 18" Enkei RS6's. Tires: Nankang 225/40-18. Car: 92 Prelude SI. Problem: The tires seem to be a tad too big and rub on the suspension up front at sudden dips in the road. I don't see a problem in the rear. After doing a bit of research I found that the ideal size of tire would have been 215/35-18. I didn't think a few millimeters would make such a difference but when coupled with an offset of 38mm I gues it does (the recommended off set is 40-45mm). I was also told that now my speedo is going to be off because the tires are not the recommended size. The fender gap is now so small-and the car seems to actually been raised about an inch or so off the ground(so ground clearance is a problem any more) so my ground control coilovers will be sitting off to the side until I can figure out this current problem. .

The question: Would spacers give me the clearance I need (or even work for that matter) or do I need to get the slightly smaller tire? Would it even make a difference either way with the offset such as it is? I have a set of AGX adjustables that I plan on having mounted sometime next week. Would these make any difference? Would the AGX's on the stiffest setting help the rubbing situation? Am I in danger of blowing out tires? What is this doing to the bearings? Etc...

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
