Stereo installation into a 2000
Hey,
Recently someone posted about the stereo installation process into a 99. I'm gonna put a new head unit into a 2000. Are there any major differences in the installation process? Can anyone who has done this offer any tips. Also, does anyone have any tips for installing new speakers into the front doors? How easy is it to remove the panels, and also to put them back on? Thanks John |

Re: Stereo installation into a 2000
your 2000 is very similar. Tacoma's are all ISO mount so you bolt the stereo to side brackets that get bolted back into the dash. Wiring harness is the same. Door panels come off with a few screws and panel snaps. Nothing tricky in the doors. Be sure to check your speaker mounting depth clearance before choosing new speakers unless you're comfortable with making them fit yourself.
