Gas and temp gauge problems

There is something wrong with my gas and temperature gauges.

The temp. went bad first. The needle doesn't move at all. Then after some time the gas gauge went bad, but instead of not moving, it goes all the way up.. way past the F and stays there all the time.

I did put new gauge faces on, but I checked everything to make sure it's all connected correctly. It's just not complicated enough for me to think I screwed something up or broke it.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could check?

It's a 1990 Prelude S 2.0L (carb)

If I were to buy new sensors what would I be asking for?
