Question Which mods to get first...

Ok... I wanna know which mods on a 94-96 vtec lude would be the best for PERFORMANCE, the cheaper the better of course. I've done a lot of research on the different performance mods there are to choose from, many of them I don't even understand how they work but hey I'm willing to learn...

I DO know there are many ways to increase performance/add HP by just removing or altering certain parts of the engine (some are illegal, but really, how often are people caught? Cops look under the hood? ).

Enough of my jabbering... I would just like a list of which mods are most important, how they work, how much they cost to purchase and how much they cost to install OR if I can do the installation manually (I only know fundemental engine facts but i CAN be taught ).

THANKS,
par

Re: Which mods to get first...

thats what i was thinking, whats the best cold air intake to buy? K&N? what exactly does cold air do for the engine?

asfor exhaust systems, does upgrading it just allow more exhaust to leave the car faster and therefore allow the engine to take in more oxygen?

Cold air intake allows the engine to 'breathe' easier. The filter on the end is probably easier flowing then stock. It is also designed to keep the intake air as cool as possible. Cooler air means denser air, which means more oxygen to combine with the fuel.

He's prolly right, Nitrous is rather cheap...........but you'll blow up your stock engine with more than a...........60 - 80 hp shot?, i think.
You would need to upgrade internals for serious power with nitrous, and if you upgrade internals forget nitrous and thow a T3/T4 turbo on there................that'll be about $4000+ all together.
but realistically, buy an AEM V2, Skunk2 intake manifold, DC Sports Ceramic headers, Random Technologies high flow cat and Greddy EVO exaust. thall be good for 20 - 40 hp, maybe, and cost, what $1500+?
thats what I would do, will do, eventually.
and if you don't plan on turbo or nitrous any time soon, Venom performance modules look pretty good, dunno tho.
