Mclaren MP 4/13 Progress Pic

As some of you know I recently came back from Japan and I bought myself a few toys. Well i am going to start on my f1 model for this year.
The Mclaren MP 4/13, a rare kit to find but I managed to get my hands on one. As for my Evolution of life thread with the skylines I am done with the r33 and r32 just need to do the panel lines and decal will post those over the weekend.

Here is a few pic

Now I need help in getting some reference pic so if any of you guys have some good quality picture it would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have a delima here now the front section of the body has the mold line down the moddle. The [problem is i have to do the seating of the car first and glue the body before I can putty it nad paint it. Is there a better way of doing this? Let me know

Good luck, will be looking forward to following the progress. IMHO one of the best looking F1 cars ever, even with the skinny track and grooved tyres.

Wouldn't have thought it was rare though, perhaps the Japanese GP version with West decals and high downforce wings. But the German GP version should still be about or has Tamiya's license with McLaren lapsed again?

I remember reading the trick with the monocoque was to cut out the bottom. So the seat can be fitted from underneath after the two sides have been glues, filled and painted.

Tamiya has discontinue this particular mclaren. I don't know why since they still produce all the other mp models. Oh well. Yeah I thought about cutting the bottom part but not 100 percent sure if it will work. the seat some what flare out a bit making the bottom part much smaller then the width of the seat.

The car will be somewhat stock, it will have carbon decal, metal foil, perfect parts metal rims, all the racing antenas and west decal.

oh thinking about ordering the new williams tree set with the rotating brakes. and convert it. But not sure that is acurate for the mp4/13. I know it is on the new car.

Okay is 3 in the morning was going to take some pic but think I will wait for the sun to come up later.

Putty the front nose, chassis, the rear cowl, primem the engine dry fitted a lot of the parts to make sure it fits right. When I wake up I will sand the putty off and ready to alcad the engine.

Waiting for some 24k gold foil to do the underside of the engine. Upon close inspection of some photos the under side of the engine has been gold foil.

Time for bed.

Happy labour day weekend!!!!
