Running Wire Help

Hey guys,

Im just about done installing an alarm system in my car, save for one wire. The wire that runs from the central alarm computer to the siren in the trunk. I was wondering if there was an easy location to run a wire from the interior of my 92 civic hatch to the trunk area. Thanks for the help.

i'm not sure, i'm trying to find a way to get holes through the firewall without having to drill, but I don't know if there is one

So let me see if I'm following, you are having problems finding a hole to run wires from your engine bay through the fire wall to the back (hatch/trunk) of your Civic?

If that's it, then do it the easy way that I do it. Just find the wires that run into through your fire wall to your stereo and/or air controls. The way to do that is to look for your wires coming from your AC into your car. Or if you have had an aftermarket sound system installed professionally, follow those wires from around the engine to the fire wall. You should see a black rubber stopper like thing sticking out of the firewall that wires are being run through. Simply just poke your wire through the rubber stopper and it will come out in the cabin of the car. From there I would either go under the carpet along the edge of the door or along the center console (like where your shifter is at). That should take you all the way back to where you need to go, then from there you can hide the wire in the trunk as you please. It will take time, because to do it right you will probably need to take some panels off, or take out your seats if you run it along the center console. My personal preference, especially when dealing with large gauge wire, would be to run along the center console. It takes time, but you can hide wires easy and it will look the best after it’s done... but that's my personal view.

Just my ...
