Adding

pressed enter prematurly
also adding 300ZX and whatever else u can think off (please specify)

this is assuming there all comporable condition, year, trim ect

this is bone stock but also feel free to add which you think is most moddable and would do the best after modded sufficiently.

I don't know about the other cars but the 300ZX TT won the C&D top 10 car of the year a couple times. Did any of the other do that. Stock I'll take the 300ZX TT.

Mods:
Tie - Supra: Unbelievable high speed acceleration. Massive HP gains for very little money.
Tie - 300ZX TT: A little harder to get massive power than the Supra, better down low, better handeling.
3nd - RX-7: Good power, Best handler. Tricky rotory motor, easy to ruin if not careful.
4rd - 3000GT: too heavy, excellent power, don't know much about this car, it's not sold in Canada.
5th - MR2: A little underpowered for this comparo. Good handler.

This is just my opinion.

Well Since MotorRex is now bringing in the Skyline GTR and the new R35 models are aimed at the European and US markets need to add that to the list.

1. Skyline GTR - Responds like no other to mods. Getting 1000+ hp is no major feat. It has the ATTESSA 4wd system and is a techno monster!

2. Supra - That big 3 liter twin turbo charge mill can pump serious poke. The major reason for second place is it heavier than the GTR and is only 2wd. Huge top speeds have been recorded with them.

3. Series 6 RX-7 - Hard to beat a rotory for high rpm. The 13b can pump serious poke but is also unreliable. The handling for a 2wd car is awesome and they are quite light weight.

4. 3000GT VR4 - 4wd makes up for its weight, though even with good tuning the motor just does not respond as well as the other above it. Handling is up there above all but the GTR, but since it is full time 4wd you lose hp through the drive train needlessly under normal driving.

5. 300ZX - The VG30TT block is weak. I have personally seen quite a few #2 main cap failures when pushed with hard tuning. The car is extremely heavy for its size. Handling is very good due to its wide wheel base, but due to 85% of its weight is on the front wheels it is not a very well balanced sports car.

6. MR2 - The turbo version goes pretty good though as states above way underpowered. Light weight helps make up with a fairly good power to weight ratio, but the 2 liter motor just can not keep up with the others. Understeer can be an issue with very little weight over the front wheels and under hard braking they will tend to go into over steer.

Since I own 2 VR4s I'll jump in here. I've talked with Mylacc earlier, but I want to clear a couple things up.

None of the cars are made anymore.

They've all one type of award or another.

3000 have been sold in Canada. There are quite a few there actually.

3000 take well to mods and the four bolt second generation stands up well to the mods needed to get the car into the 11's. Sure there are faster 300, Supras etc but those are an extremely rare breed and only for the truely dedicated.

All the cars are within a couple tenths of each other stock to stock, year for year so the driver who can get the most out of their car is the deciding factor in their speed.

If the goal is racing - Start with the Supra
If the goal is styling - Go with the VR4
If the goal is drivability - Go with the VR4
If the goal is to impress ricers - Go with the Supra (or a Skyline)
If the goal is to drive in inclimate weather - go with the VR4
If the goal is to work on a car - get the RX-7
If the goal is to have easy mods - get the 300TT

The cars I bought tell you what I wanted out of my purchases.

That is a great car but I think its pricing puts it more towards the exotic range. Its 1.5 to 2+ X the price of any of the other cars listed (year for year)

Kudos on the saying NSX, possibly the greatest race car to come out of Japan. Out of those, duh Supra. Second, VR4, then RX7.

G forces you are pretty much correct, i agree with your rankings...if the skyline was in there, it would go to number one. RazorGTR you don't know jack. The cast iron engine block in the VG is not weak at all, the 300zx has been raced professionally many times, and it was the only Japanese car to win the coveted Lemans race twice in the same year. Those are long races dude. There may have been other cars to do this recently, but i know that prior to 1998 no other Japanese car had accomplished this. What has a piss weak engine is the RX-7's 13b. Great design, can achieve high hp, but can't hold it for long. Geez, after 60k miles the average STOCK Rx-7's engine needs to be replaced?? Please, and ur calling the VG motor weak? I spent a couple grand, and my Z is pushing about 500 bhp. Reliably, my original 91 VG is still in place with 100k miles and running strong; I have no motor problems and stock internals. I crap on 90% of the supras I see all day long, what do you think of that? If I spend another 5k, i could have internals done (JE pistons, forged crower rods, etc) and could easily get my Z to 600 rwhp on PUMP gas, 91 octane. Race fuel, 100 octane, is a completely different story. Plus, you rated the 3000GT above the Z? What a joke. You put a lot of money into ANY engine, and it's going to perform well. Supra? Great car, can't say anything bad about it, except that it had a 4 year technological advantage over the Z and Toyota put on bigger fuel injectors and bigger turbos and so that's why it has 20 more hp out of the box than the Z. If the Z had t3 turbos and bigger injectors it would have pulled out more. But I respect Supras, they're great. O yeah, by the way Razor, the Supra and the Z weigh the same, there's a 50 lb difference. I like RX-7's too, I just wish the engines were more durable, but their handling is hands down the best. If your buddies blew their motors, it's because they didn't know how to tune properly and pushed the boost to high, or over reved, not because the "VG's block is weak", because that's bullshit. There, I'm done.

since this guy still posts i would like to add...

the VG30DETT does have problems making over 700rwhp but under it is just as strong as any RB26DETT or 2JZ motors. usually when an engine blows, its due to not being built well enough to handle the power...not because the block is weak.

you are complaining about the 300zx's weight but you put the 3800lb VR4 above it and say the AWD makes up for the 3000gts weight...it makes up for it off of the line. after that, AWD and its weight kill its performance.

i wouldnt say that 85% if its weight is over the front tires...i think the weight balance is more like 55/45. its pretty well balanced...the only car on the list balance better is the FD3S.

i wont even get into what has been said wrong about any of the other cars.

ok...im done. close this 4 year old ignorant thread.
