Bbq Tips (steak)
Ok this one is out there, but I need some tips for tonight. I'm gonna be sitting around here for a while with no possibility of getting grub. 13 hours to be exact(isn't shift work great) However I do have some steaks at home and I have nothing but time to think of ways to cook, prepare them. If you got any ideas let me know.

Well you have steaks. And then you have time to cook them.
My suggestion then, is to cook the steaks during the time you have for doing so - anything else would just be silly.

Still mooing is good
![]() Anyway, soy is good, olive oil is good, garlic is good, combinations of the above, +/- honey perhaps. I recently decided randomly to use a bit of cinnamon, and that wa quite nice. Don't turn the steak more than once. Just judge the state of "cooked-ness", by the feel: touch the end of your nose- that's well-done; touch in-between your thumb and forefinger (the bulgy bit) with your fingers closed - that's medium; touch that same area with your fingers spread and relaxed - that's rare. Just compare how the steak feels when you press on it (with your spatula or whatever ) and you should have it done nicely.

I was about to post exactly what moondog said.
A bit of salt and some BBQ seasoning doesn't hurt either. Served with some wedges, salad, peas.... Fuck you, I want steak now

This is how we do it in the south:
Get Dale's Steak Seasoning -- basically a soy sauce with extra salt but different flavoring Get Garlic Salt Get Worshischere Sauce Get whatever other seasonings you like Mix it all together in a large bowl, and place steaks in to marinate. After about 15 minutes of marinating, flip the steaks. After another 15 minutes, throw them on the hot grill. Cook to your liking and eat. Good ol' Southern Cookin'

This thread is making my mouth water.
A friend of mine uses Worshischere Sauce and also minces up garlic cloves, put slits in the meat, buries the minced cloves into the meat and grills. The taste is phenomenal. We are hoping to get a BBQ this coming weekend, and the weekend after is Alex's birthday, so we are gonna see if our friend would like to have an honor in helping us out with some grillin' :yum: |

Best way I've found to have steak, is to let it sit in the marinade for a day, maybe even 2. Cook 'em up on the grill, and it's the most flavourful steak you've ever had.

2 cups of red wine and 3 cloves of crushed garlic and a bit of good olive oil into a plastic bag. Chuck the steaks in and put them in the fridge for as long as possible (couple of hours is optimum), making sure you move the bag around at least once so the steaks get covered. Take em out, cover in remaining marinade and cook. After you have turned them once, (steak should only be turned ONCE! !!!!!) put some THINLY sliced mushrooms and onion in the pan with them. Serve the whole lot with anything you like - salad, potato mash, rice etc.

Thats what I was thinking. And to be 100% technically correct, its pronounced "Worcester" the shire is silent. Mind you, you bloody americans probably dont pronounce ANY of it right! And bloody hell. Every body knows a good BBQ = Meat + Beer. Done.

You could tell me which one you're referring to out of kindness, since the word "worchischere" comes up as non-existant in both the dictionary and on google I have my reservations as to it being what you are referring to. Unless that is another mispelling on its own. On the other hand, I am quite familiar with the other one which Slave and I mentioned.
