Unhappy Hot brake problem

I have a 99 Voyager, and replaced the front rotors and brake pads. Now, the rotors and wheels get extremely hot. The brakes do not squeal, or grind, so if it's grabbing it is very lightly. The wheels never got this hot before, so I'm at a loss. The wheels get hotenough to boil water, so I imagine that everything else is even worse. This heat comes about after just short distances of a few miles, any ideas of what to look for or try? The brakes work, the ABS keeps things from locking under heavy braking, so , like I said, I'm at a loss of what to check. Thanks for any help that's out there.

Re: Hot brake problem

don't know if you still have this problem but I had the same thing happen and the caliper actually caught on fire.On your brake flex hoses there is a mounting bracket half way down the hose that connects to the strut tower, the crimp on this bracket might be to tight and causes the line to close not allowing the brake fluid to return back to the master fast enough. Take off the flex hoses and try to blow air through them.

The problem solved itself. It seems the combination of new pads and a new rotor made things just 1mm or 2mm too thick, so the pads rubbed non stop. It stopped after a couple more days by itself.

Thanks,
Honor
