Re: hot brakes

by hot u mean temperature wise.
if they are excessively hot try jacking up the car and put the vehicle in neutral be sure the car will not roll first then give the wheels that seem to be hot a spin they should spin if they move but a great amount of force necassary then there may be a problem with your slides.

if that is the problem remove the caliper again and check them if they are rusty or rly rough clean them on a wire wheel and re lubricate them that should work.

Re: hot brakes

i'm assuming that they are the correct pads and are in correctly...
they could be dragging, which would cause a lot of heat. like driving with the parking brake slightly on or your foot on the brake.

p.s.
silentchamber, where is your wierd sig picture?
and the avatar?

ooh, banned.

Re: hot brakes

You might get a smell for a day or so when they're new, but that should go away. You probably have a sticky caliper, especially if you pushed the piston back to get the new pads in. If one wheel seems to be hot to the touch after you park it, you found the side with the dragging caliper.
